The Dezhou Acrobatic Troupe brings 12 breathtaking acts to Abu Dhabi
As the luminous full moon marks the Mid-Autumn Festival this September, Abu Dhabi will light up with a spectacular display of Chinese culture and artistry.
The renowned Dezhou Acrobatic Troupe from Shandong Province, China, will take centre stage at the Cultural Foundation with a breathtaking 90-minute performance that promises to mesmerize audiences of all ages.

This event is part of the ‘Time Together Across the Strait’ cultural showcase, celebrating rich traditions and artistic mastery from both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
Featuring 25 talented performers, the troupe will present 12 dazzling acts that blend centuries-old Chinese artistry with modern acrobatic innovation.
From the opening act, audiences will be transported into a world where grace meets daring precision.
The performance kicks off with ‘Hundreds of Birds Paying Homage to the Phoenix’, a beautifully choreographed display symbolizing harmony and prosperity.
The graceful movements of the performers mimic birds in flight, setting a poetic tone for the evening.
One of the highlights is the legendary Face-Changing technique from Sichuan opera, where performers change elaborate masks in the blink of an eye. This mesmerising skill combines speed, mystery, and artistry, leaving spectators in awe.
The troupe also showcases the awe-inspiring ‘Flying Fork’ act, where acrobats execute breathtaking aerial stunts, defying gravity with seemingly impossible flips and catches.

The performance features acts rich in symbolism and spectacle. In ‘Moonlight Over the Lotus Pond – Umbrella Pedaling,’ performers spin and pedal with umbrellas in intricate formations that evoke the serene beauty of moonlit water.
One of the most heart-stopping moments is the ‘Leaping Over the Dragon Gate – Hoop Jumping.’
Here, acrobats leap through stacked hoops reaching heights of 2.15 meters, demonstrating astonishing athleticism and precision.
This act symbolises overcoming obstacles and achieving success, fitting beautifully with the themes of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
