Dive into a world of art and rhythm at Cultural Foundation Abu Dhabi’s 2024 programme
It’s all going on at Cultural Foundation Abu Dhabi with a diverse line-up of musical and theatrical performances as well as launch three captivating new exhibitions as part of its 2024 season.
The lineup includes a major show that celebrates the work of pioneering Emirati artist Hussein Sharif.
Also in the offing are talks, tours, workshops and events, not to mention annual art residencies and mentorship programmes, aimed at supporting and nurturing artists and creatives.

EXHIBITIONS
22 February – 1 September 2024
Step into the world of art with three exciting exhibitions opening on 22 February. Hussein Sharif: Re-framing Reality explores four decades of the artist’s work, highlighting his multidisciplinary practice and innovative use of recycled materials. The exhibition runs until 1 September, offering a chance to interact with art.

Native: Plants in the UAE is a group exhibition exploring the native flora’s life conditions and ecological significance. Curated by Sumayya Al Suwaidi, the exhibition runs until 1 September.
22 February – 22 August 2024
For the first time in the region, experience Through the Seasons with Eric Carle, celebrating the renowned illustrator’s work until 22 August. Immerse yourself in the wonders of nature through Carle’s brilliant imagery, including original artworks from classic picture books.
PERFORMANCES
4 February 2024
Get ready to groove with the Xinjiang Art Theatre Song and Dance Troupe Their performance, Xinjiang is a Nice Place, promises a night of mesmerising dance and vocal expressions, celebrating the Chinese New Year in style. Co-presented with Abu Dhabi Festival and China Cultural Centre, this epic show is not to be missed.

Expect an intimate evening with Abdullah Al-Ruwaished, the Khaleeji music ambassador. Titled Jalsa with Abdullah Al-Ruwaished, this exclusive performance will transport you into the artist’s unique world through his most beloved songs.

Immerse yourself in the modern beats inspired by Sudanese folk songs with artist Omar Elamin. This fusion of old and new promises an eclectic evening of rhythms and sounds that will leave you wanting more.

Don’t miss the enchanting Emirati theatrical production Atrasa by the Modern Theatre Group. This performance for children explores the importance of time, delivering a lasting lesson with engaging storytelling and captivating visuals.
4 May 2024
Mark your calendars for when Fatima Al Hashmi takes you on A Musical Journey through Arabic Language. With a mix of traditional and modern Arabic music, she’ll showcase the beauty and complexity of the Arabic language.

For the little ones, on join us for The Gruffalo’s Child – a delightful tale brought to life through theatre, capturing the magic of Julia Donaldson’s beloved picture book.
Accompanying these exhibitions and performances, Cultural Foundation’s public programme offers talks, tours, workshops, and events, making it a cultural hub for all. Entrance is free, and performances start at AED 30.
