Running until 30 April 2025, it features site-specific installations and performances in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain
Launching on 15 November 2024, the Public Art Abu Dhabi Biennial will unite over 70 contemporary artists from the UAE and across the globe in a celebration of creativity and community
Organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), the Biennial runs until 30 April 2025 and will feature site-specific installations and performances in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
This flagship event redefines how the emirate’s unique landscape, architecture, and multicultural heritage shape its public life, with pieces by artists like Farah Al Qasimi, Oscar Murillo, and Zeinab Alhashemi reflecting themes of urban transformation, the environment, and tradition.
DCT Abu Dhabi Chairman HE Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak describes the Biennial as a “transformative cultural experience,” bridging Abu Dhabi’s heritage with its future.
By placing art in accessible public spaces, the Biennial invites residents and visitors to engage with the emirate’s evolving cultural identity and stories.
As one of three pillars of the Public Art Abu Dhabi initiative, alongside the Manar Abu Dhabi light art exhibition, the Biennial highlights DCT Abu Dhabi’s commitment to nurturing creativity and fostering a sense of belonging.
With its debut, Abu Dhabi takes another step toward becoming a global cultural hub.
