Louvre Abu Dhabi presents over 250 works showcasing the artistic brilliance and historical impact of the Mamluk dynasty
Louvre Abu Dhabi’s Mamluks: Legacy of an Empire is a landmark exhibition, presented in collaboration with the Musée du Louvre, that brings to light the remarkable civilisational achievements of the Mamluk dynasty.
Spanning from 17 September 2025 to 25 January 2026, it features over 250 works from manuscripts and ceramics to metalwork, textiles and calligraphy, each illustrating the dynasty’s artistic mastery.
The show emphasises not only the military and political strength of the Mamluks but also their roles as patrons of art, trade and intellectual life.
Through exquisite artefacts and decorative motifs, visitors can trace how Mamluk aesthetics shaped the visual culture of the medieval Islamic world.
The exhibition thus offers a rich narrative of continuity, innovation and cross‑cultural exchange under Mamluk rule.
