A powerful new exhibition shines a light on the people preserving history against extraordinary odds
Louvre Abu Dhabi will present Living Legacies. Protecting Heritage. Building Hope from 25 November 2026 to 25 April 2027, exploring how communities around the world safeguard their cultural heritage in challenging circumstances.
Organised in partnership with the International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage (ALIPH), the exhibition brings together remarkable artefacts from international institutions and ALIPH-supported projects.
Through immersive installations, projections and personal testimonies, visitors will discover the human stories behind the preservation of history, identity and tradition.
Curated by experts from Louvre Abu Dhabi and ALIPH, the exhibition offers a thought-provoking look at the importance of protecting culture for future generations.
The museum’s 2026–2027 season will also feature curator talks, film screenings, performances, workshops, family activities and multilingual learning experiences inspired by the exhibitions.
Together, these programmes reinforce Louvre Abu Dhabi’s role as a leading cultural destination where heritage, creativity and global dialogue continue to meet.
