The eighth edition of the Jiu-Jitsu Asian Championship will take place next month
It’s great news for Jiu-Jitsu fans in the UAE capital!
The eighth edition of the Jiu-Jitsu Asian Championship is all set to take Abu Dhabi by storm next month.
Pencilled in for 3 to 8 May, the tournament will be organised by the Ju-Jitsu Asian Union (JJAU) and bring together 1,500 of the best athletes from across Asia to Abu Dhabi for nearly a week days of intense competition on the mat.
Under the patronage of Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed, the 8th Jiu-Jitsu Asian Championship will take place at the Mubadala Arena next month, setting the pace for a slew of world-class events in the capital. The participants are pouring in from over 30 countries to participate in adult and youth competitions in both male and female categories.
With less than one week left to the competitions, the UAE Jiu-Jitsu national team is at a training camp and aiming to maintain the continental title and build on previous achievements, especially the recent accomplishment at the Asian Games in China at the end of last year, which culminated in achieving 10 historic medals for the UAE.
The UAE Jiu-Jitsu national team had successfully retained the Jiu-Jitsu Asian Championship title for three consecutive years, during its latest edition held in February 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand, achieving 16 medals – 7 gold, 5 silver, and 4 bronze; solidifying the country’s position as the continental champions.
