Okay, so last weekend when Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds was announced as Chief Officer to Yas Island, it caused quite a stir.

A blockbuster moment in the capital.

And now all movie fans out there will get the chance to enjoy even more cinematic bliss when Abu Dhabi hosts the European Film Festival (EUFF) starting this Sunday, 12 May.

Organised by the European Union Delegation to the UAE in partnership with the Cultural Foundation in Abu Dhabi, this initiative is part of a global project by the European Union in over 90 countries worldwide to promote European culture, diversity, and values through the big screen.

The festival is set to showcase the richness and creativity of European filmmaking while fostering collaboration and sharing expertise with local film industry professionals and students.

All movies have been carefully selected in collaboration with Cineuropa and EU Member States Embassies, Consulates and Cultural Institutes in the UAE.

The festival will offer UAE movie fans an insightful journey and a unique cultural exchange through the international language of cinema.

The EUFF 2024 edition will include 10 films from: Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Slovenia, and Sweden.

It promises to be a blockbuster event so make sure to join everyone in celebrating the richness of European cinema by supporting the European Film Festival in Abu Dhabi.
