The WMN Moving FWD cycling challenge was postponed two weeks ago due to bad weather
UAE Team ADQ’s initiative, the WMN Moving FWD cycling challenge, is back with a Ramadan competition on 25 March from 6 pm on Hudayriyat Island.
The initially planned event was postponed two weeks ago when the severe weather conditions meant it couldn’t go ahead in the city.
But now the challenge returns and will feature race categories catering to all skill levels, including the Women Warriors Cycle Race (60km), Diva Dash Cycle Race (40km), Rookie Ride (20km), and the Moms & Mini Moms Ride (5km). The first edition of the race attracted 142 participants and was the largest women’s cycling race held in the UAE since 2016.
UAE Team ADQ invites all cycling enthusiasts to join the capital’s first ladies’ cycling event, promoting camaraderie, competition, and community engagement. The challenge will feature Emirati riders Safiya Alsayegh, UAE Team ADQ National Champion, and Zahra Hussein, a member of the UAE Development Team.
‘WMN Moving FWD’ is UAE Team ADQ’s social platform and it aims to develop cycling at a grassroots level, build a more active and healthier community, and address the multifaceted challenges faced by women in the cycling industry.

This event strives to empower women cyclists, promote inclusion, and foster a cycling culture in the UAE.
