The Blue Quran folio has never been at the same place before
Explore art, calligraphy and sacred manuscripts like never before at the Louvre Abu Dhabi this season.
Now open to the public, Letters of Light is a unique opportunity to discover the commonalities of scripture across the three Abrahamic religions.
Held in partnership with Bibliothèque nationale de France and France Muséums, the exhibition will spotlight all three Holy Books – the Quran, the Christian Bible (Old and New Testaments) and the Hebrew Bible (Tanakh).

Explore the historical context in which the holy books emerged, their associated scholarly, talismanic, and mystical practices and their essential role in intellectual and artistic history.

Naturally, there will be an emphasis on the universal nature of the biblical, evangelical, and Quranic messages and the ethical dimension they possess by highlighting episodes and figures in common.
As you walk through the five different sections of the exhibit, uncover sacred writings, some truly unique finds that have never been seen together before, including the likes of the Blue Quran folio, first produced in Kairouan, Tunisia, in the 9th or 10th century.
Also on display is the world’s smallest Bible to have travelled across space, the Nano Bible, brought by astronaut Eytan Stibbe to the International Space Station in April 2022.
And of course, the ultimate highlight, the Blue Quran folio, never in the same place at the same time before this moment at Louvre Abu Dhabi.
The exhibition runs until 14 January 2024, so hurry and take a trip through some exquisite scriptures.
