BIS Abu Dhabi students celebrate success in their first LAMDA acting exams
Students at The British International School Abu Dhabi (BIS Abu Dhabi) have achieved impressive results in the school’s inaugural London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA) Acting Examinations.
Introduced as part of the school’s co-curricular programme, pupils from Year 6 to Year 13 participated last term, performing a range of pieces, from Shakespearean soliloquies to contemporary monologues.
For many, this was their first taste of formal performance assessment – yet results were high, with numerous Distinctions awarded and individual marks reaching 98%.
Students completing Grades 6 and 7 also gained valuable UCAS points, offering an additional advantage when applying to universities in the UK and internationally.

LAMDA examinations, recognised worldwide, test a broad range of skills from breathing and projection to character analysis.
They are designed to nurture qualities that reach far beyond the stage, developing confidence, communication, and resilience – attributes that support students across academic and personal pursuits.
To mark this achievement, Head of Secondary Mrs Aine McGlue presented Commendation certificates to all participants, recognising their commitment, talent, and the courage required to perform under exam conditions.
Congratulations to all.
