The Meats & Mountains festival will run for two weekends at this iconic spot in Al Ain

Foodies in Abu Dhabi, our time is now with a slew of delicious festivals descending on the emirate. If Taste of Abu Dhabi and the Michelin Guide Food Festival weren’t enough, the latest addition is the delicious Meat & Mountains Food Festival heading to Al Ain very soon.

Taking place at Jebel Hafit Desert Park in Al Ain, the festival will take place exclusively on 23 November and 21 December, making those two the most delicious weekends to look out for this winter. An open fire food festival, we’re already salivating over the thought of sizzling meats across the mountains.

Access to Meat & Mountains camp, food, snacks, drinks and an amazing kite-flying experience are all built into the price of the ticket, making this an epic day out with your loved ones over the weekend.

What kinds of food can you expect at Meat & Mountains?

Think mouth-watering Texas Smokehouse-style brisket and wings, courtesy of BBQ Sultan, while sipping on Qure Drinks’ refreshing mocktails and non-alcoholic beverages. There’s plenty of indulgence on the cards with authentic Mexican street food by Panamericana, and Omar Odali’s famous Nabulsi Knafeh – known as the best in Dubai and the first to be cooked over coals outdoors.

Adding a rich cultural touch to this bucket-list experience, Meats & Mountains showcases authentic Emirati hospitality, featuring guided art and archaeology hikes, Gahwa (traditional Arabic coffee) stations, live falconry demonstrations, and the chance to sample fire-cooked Harees. Guests can also savour Emirati favourites like Lugaimat and Karak tea, and witness traditional bread-making in action.

Are there stay arrangements at the Meat & Mountains camp?

In addition to kite flying, there’s plenty for the family to do, including hikes to explore the gorgeous terrain. You can make a day of it as well with a visit to the Al Ain Zoo, and stay at hotels such as Ayla Bawadi Al Ain, Ayla Grand Al Ain or the Radisson Blu Al Ain.
