This is going to be one dazzling exhibition
For the very first time, Sotheby’s is bringing a blockbuster Fine Art exhibition to the city – and we’re talking serious masterpieces.
Think Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Frida Kahlo, Edvard Munch, René Magritte and Camille Pissarro.

Six names that need no introduction, together worth a jaw-dropping $150 million.
Hosted at the Bassam Freiha Art Foundation from 1 October for two days only, this is officially the most valuable art exhibition ever staged in the region.
None of these works have ever been seen in the Middle East before, and three haven’t been on public view anywhere in over 50 years.

Among the highlights is a striking Munch landscape from the legendary collection of Leonard A. Lauder, plus works by van Gogh and Gauguin that once graced the Chicago home of the Pritzkers (yes, the family behind the world-famous architecture prize).
There’s also a Magritte masterpiece straight from the collection of American philanthropists Matthew and Kay Bucksbaum.
Once Abu Dhabi has had its moment, the collection jets off to London and Paris before hitting New York for Sotheby’s hotly anticipated November auctions, marking the opening of its new HQ in the iconic Breuer Building.
