DCT Abu Dhabi honours the new list of Abu Dhabi Urban Treasures 2024

Restaurants, local shops and more revealed as part of Abu Dhabi’s Urban Treasures 2024 list

There’s nothing like Abu Dhabi’s growing list of Urban Treasures to prove the capital’s commitment to its community.

The annual list by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi recognises restaurants, cafes and other shops that have existed for two decades or more, thus becoming notable pillars of the community. And this year’s list added 15 more businesses to the list.

Now in its third year, two of the 15 establishments included are restaurants – namely Alfarah Restaurant and Alareesh Restaurant.

The other recognised businesses are scattered across different sectors, from the UAE’s first pharmacy Al Qadi Pharmacy & Est (1965) to carpet expert Persian Carpets & Antiques Exhibition (1989).

More establishments named in the Abu Dhabi Urban Treasures awards this year included Paris Textiles LLC, WOSTB Legal Translation, Al Jazeera Studio & Stores and Al Ain Pharmacy, Salem Al Shueibi Jewellery and Rubou Zahla Trading Establishment.

Alareesh Restaurant
