Here’s a breakdown of what to expect at Louvre Abu Dhabi in 2025–2026:

Mamluks: Legacy of an Empire

17 September 17, 2025 – 25 January, 2026

Step into the golden age of Islamic art with Mamluks: Legacy of an Empire.

This landmark exhibition explores the rich cultural and political legacy of the Mamluk Sultanate, a dominant Islamic dynasty that ruled Egypt, the Levant, parts of Turkey, and the holy cities of Mecca and Medina for more than 250 years.

Visitors can expect exquisite craftsmanship, historic diplomacy, and artworks that capture a transformative era.

Highlights include Reception of a Venetian Delegation by the Mamluk Governor of Damascus and the stunning Baptistery of Saint Louis.

Presented in collaboration with the Musée du Louvre, the exhibition draws from both international loans and Louvre Abu Dhabi’s permanent collection.

Art Here 2025 & The Richard Mille Art Prize

8 October – 28 December, 2025

Returning for its fifth edition, Art Here 2025 continues to spotlight cutting-edge contemporary talent from the Gulf and beyond.

Curated by renowned Swiss-Japanese curator Sophie Mayuko Arni, this year’s theme is Shadows, a poetic exploration of the balance between light and darkness inspired by Japanese and Arabian Gulf aesthetics.

Featuring immersive installations by artists from the GCC, MENA region, and Japan, the exhibition culminates in the awarding of the prestigious Richard Mille Art Prize. Expect thought-provoking art that bridges tradition and innovation.

Picasso, the Figure

19 January – 31 May, 2026

One of the season’s biggest draws, Picasso, the Figure, offers a fresh look at one of the most influential artists of the 20th century.

This major retrospective focuses on Pablo Picasso’s exploration of the human form, from classical muses to surrealist reinventions.

Key works include:

Woman with a Mandolin (1911)

Portrait of a Seated Woman (Olga) (1923)

Woman Sitting in Front of the Window (1937)

Featuring paintings, sculptures, and rarely seen drawings, this exhibition is presented in collaboration with the Musée national Picasso-Paris.

In addition to these headline shows, Louvre Abu Dhabi will also roll out a dynamic calendar of cultural events, talks, and workshops throughout the season.

A new immersive experience is also in the works; though details are still under wraps, anticipation is already high.

Whether you’re fascinated by Islamic history, inspired by modern art, or captivated by the genius of Picasso, Louvre Abu Dhabi’s 2025–2026 season offers an unforgettable journey through time and creativity.

Don’t miss it; these exhibitions are set to redefine cultural storytelling in the UAE and beyond.
