Season 11 at The Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi is off to an incredible start, and the excitement isn’t slowing down.
Next week, the spotlight turns to two standout events that bring the magic of Arab storytelling and music to the stage.
Taking place on 4 and 6 November are two unforgettable nights celebrating creativity, culture, and world-class talent right here in Abu Dhabi.
CinemaNA: My Driver and I – Ahd Kamel
Tuesday, 4 November, 2025, 7.30pm, The Blue Hall
Presented by the NYUAD Film and New Media Program, this special screening features Saudi filmmaker Ahd Kamel’s acclaimed film My Driver and I.
Set in 1980s and 1990s Jeddah, the story follows a young Saudi girl and her Sudanese driver as an unlikely friendship blossoms, tested when she takes the wheel herself.
Following the screening, audiences will enjoy a live conversation with Ahd Kamel, offering insight into her creative process and the themes explored in the film.
Kenan Adnawi – Moonlight Road
Thursday, 6 November, 2025, 7:30pm, The Blue Hall
In partnership with the NYUAD Music Program, Kenan Adnawi brings traditional Arabic and Oriental music to life through a solo oud performance.
His original compositions guide listeners through the rich landscape of Arabic maqamat, transitioning from introspective improvisations to dynamic, experimental rhythms.
Adnawi’s technical mastery and emotive phrasing create an immersive musical experience that bridges the oud’s heritage with contemporary influences.
Both events offer a unique opportunity to explore the vibrant cultural and artistic expressions of the Arab world in the heart of Abu Dhabi.
