Six installations by seven artists from the GCC, Japan, and beyond to be showcased at Louvre Abu Dhabi

Louvre Abu Dhabi has officially announced the six shortlisted artworks for the upcoming Art Here 2025 exhibition and Richard Mille Art Prize.

Now in its fifth year, the initiative continues to highlight contemporary art across the GCC and, for the first time, Japan.

This year’s edition, curated by Sophie Mayuko Arni, centers around the theme of “Shadows”, inviting artists to explore the dynamic between light, absence, memory, and transformation.

Over 400 proposals were submitted from across the UAE, GCC, Japan, and beyond, with seven artists ultimately selected for this year’s showcase.

The shortlisted artists are:

Ahmed Al-Aqra (Palestine)

Jumairy (UAE)

Ryoichi Kurokawa (Japan)

Hamra Abbas (Pakistan/UAE)

Rintaro Fuse (Japan)

YOKOMAE et BOUAYAD – a duo made up of Takuma Yokomae (Japan) and Dr. Ghali Bouayad (Morocco)

Their works span digital performance, immersive installations, multidisciplinary design, and reimaginings of traditional and cultural aesthetics.

Art Here 2025 will be held under the dome of Louvre Abu Dhabi from 11 October to 28 December 2025.

The exhibition continues to grow in scope and impact, deepening connections between artists in the region and new international voices.

A prestigious jury of regional and international art leaders will determine the recipient of the Richard Mille Art Prize, awarded at the close of the exhibition.
