Dates, scope and all you need to know about the newest Arts Apprenticeship programme in Abu Dhabi
It’s a treat for art lovers in Abu Dhabi! The National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS) has launched an annual Arts Apprenticeship programme in collaboration with Dirwaza Curatorial Lab, an Abu Dhabi-based creative incubator and projects partner, founded by Munira Al Sayegh.
Designed for people living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and similar chronic conditions, the apprenticeship spans two months and four participants will be selected from across the UAE.
As part of the programme, the selected apprentices will be trained by the Dirwaza Curatorial Lab team on curatorial thinking and research. The aim is to develop curatorial skills, from ideating to storytelling and planning for an exhibition, while simultaneously raising awareness about MS.

Applications are now open until 30 September on the NMSS’s website and social media platforms. Selected participants will be announced on 21 October, so get going and apply soon!
The programme, titled ‘Curatorial Paths: Introduction to Exhibition Curation’, includes immersive experiences such as studio visits and exhibition tours in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah, and one-on-one mentorship sessions.
The programme provides unique opportunities for personal and professional growth in the arts sector for people living with MS and other similar chronic conditions. It emphasises the use of art as a powerful tool for expression and community building, fostering support and understanding for people living with MS.
