Visitors will experience every brushstroke, every dialogue, and every creative spark as cultures connect
Abu Dhabi Festival’s Art @ Embassies initiative landed in Japan this July, lighting up the UAE Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka with creativity, culture, and cross-cultural exchange.
Presented by the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF) in partnership with the UAE Pavilion, the event connected Emirati artists with Japanese creatives in a lively panel exploring identity, memory, and the fast-paced rhythm of modern life.
This marks the latest stop for Art @ Embassies, following successful editions in London, Paris, and Seoul; continuing ADMAF’s mission to use art as a bridge between cultures.
As part of the UAE Pavilion’s Earth to Ether theme, the initiative brought together artists Shaikha Al Ketbi, Sarah Al Mehairi, and Chiaki Soma in a vibrant conversation.

The Pavilion itself, located in the Expo’s Empowering Lives Zone, was designed by an international team, blending Emirati and Japanese creative vision.
The cultural programming doesn’t stop there. Earlier this year, the Pavilion hosted a stunning calligraphy collaboration between UAE’s Mohamed Mandi and Japan’s Juichi Yoshikawa.
This summer also features a rotating Guest Artists Takeover, where four Emirati artists transform the Pavilion into live studios with workshops and demos for visitors from around the world.
In August, winners of The Christo and Jeanne-Claude Award 2025, Sara Farha and Khaled Shalkha, will lead interactive innovation workshops that blend art, tech, and experimentation.
With ADMAF and the UAE Pavilion teaming up throughout Expo 2025, the UAE’s vibrant arts scene is making its mark globally, inviting the world to explore, connect, and be inspired.
