This summer, visitors can swap the courts for culture as the Abu Dhabi Culture Pavilion brings the UAE’s rich heritage to life with a packed programme of free family-friendly experiences.
Running until 23 August at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, the activation by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) offers visitors the chance to immerse themselves in Emirati traditions through interactive workshops, live demonstrations and hands-on activities suitable for all ages.
Designed to sit alongside the UAE’s largest indoor sports festival, the pavilion blends culture with community, creating a space where families, children and visitors can discover the stories, skills and traditions that have shaped the nation.
Whether you’re looking to entertain the kids between sporting activities or simply want to experience a different side of Abu Dhabi Summer Sports, there’s plenty to explore.
Visitors can challenge each other in traditional Emirati games, learn centuries-old artisan crafts, experience the rituals of Bait Al Gahwa (the traditional Arabic coffee ceremony), watch impressive falconry demonstrations and enjoy live performing arts celebrating local culture.
The programme also shines a spotlight on Abu Dhabi’s museums and libraries, bringing their collections and expertise out into the community through engaging workshops, educational sessions and interactive activities.
Young visitors can also take part in heritage initiatives designed to introduce the next generation to the UAE’s customs, values and traditions in a fun and accessible way.

Better still, all activities within the Abu Dhabi Culture Pavilion are free to take part in, although visitors must register for Abu Dhabi Summer Sports before attending.
