The 20th Liwa Date Festival, under the patronage of Mansour bin Zayed, is set to take place in Liwa City, Al Dhafra Region this summer!

A cultural and heritage favourite on Abu Dhabi’s calendar annually, this year’s festival will take place from 15-28 July.

The festival continues to be a fantastic opportunity to explore the vibrant date farming sector and support local farmers in the Al Dhafra Region.

Visitors can look forward to a variety of competitions, including date and fruit mazayna, as well as the incredible model farm competitions. Additionally, they can enjoy a range of traditional handicrafts and a delightful children’s village, offering something for everyone in the family.

The 20th Liwa Date Festival is not just about dates; it is also predominantly a celebration of the UAE’s rich cultural heritage. The festival aims to highlight the historical significance of palm trees in the UAE and pass on these traditions to future generations. Visitors will have the chance to learn about the legacy and traditions of the Al Dhafra Region.
