Shopping at Yas Mall? Here’s what Abu Dhabi shoppers need to know
Abu Dhabi’s Yas Mall is updating its parking system from 8 December 2025, introducing a new fee structure that may change how visitors plan their trips.
Under the new system, the first four hours of parking remain free, but from the fifth hour onwards, shoppers will need to pay AED 20 for the fifth hour, and AED 10 for every additional hour.
The change comes as Yas Mall implements a fully ticketless parking system, which automatically detects vehicle license plates and records the duration of each stay.
For most visitors, the process will be seamless: any applicable fees are automatically charged to a linked Salik account.
Those without a Salik account can pay via Parkonic, a mobile app accessible through QR codes displayed throughout the parking areas.

According to mall management, the system aims to streamline parking, reduce congestion, and improve turnover, particularly during peak shopping times and weekends.
However, shoppers may want to rethink long visits or extended dining experiences to avoid unexpected fees.
For families, leisure visitors, and tourists, this means that while short trips and casual shopping remain free, longer stays, such as full-day mall outings, may incur costs.
Overall, the update is designed to make parking more efficient and automated, but shoppers are advised to plan ahead and check their Salik or Parkonic setup to avoid surprises
Whether this will influence visitor habits or footfall remains to be seen, but it marks a notable shift in how Abu Dhabi’s most popular retail destination manages its parking facilities.
