Rain showers sweep across UAE with high winds and rough seas in forecast. Stay informed!

Residents across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and other parts of the UAE woke up to refreshing morning showers this Friday.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) reported a wet start to the day, with scattered rainfall making its presence felt across the Emirates.

In Abu Dhabi, light rain graced Mohamed bin Zayed City around 4.15 am, following a damp Thursday evening.

Meanwhile, Dubai experienced light showers in areas like Al Jaddaf and The Greens shortly after 7am, while heavier rain fell in other parts of the city. Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Umm Al Quwain also joined in on the rainy action.

But it wasn’t just the rain that had everyone talking – NCM also issued warnings for high winds, with speeds reaching up to 40 kph, lasting until 8am on Friday.

Additionally, rough seas off the coast of Abu Dhabi are expected to persist until 4pm, so beach plans might need a rain check.

Winter Vibes Are Here!

As the UAE heads deeper into winter, it’s common to see a mix of rain, cooler temperatures, and the occasional overcast sky.

For Saturday and Sunday, expect more grey skies across the Emirates, according to the NCM’s five-day forecast.

However, the weather is set to warm up slightly by Monday. But don’t stash away your jackets just yet – foggy mornings are predicted to make a comeback on Tuesday.

Daytime temperatures are expected to hover around the mid-20s in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, while evenings could drop to a brisk 15°C.
