UAE now offering two-month visa amnesty starting 1 September

This two-month visa amnesty provides a crucial opportunity for expats living illegally to regularise their status

The UAE is set to launch a two-month visa amnesty programme starting 1 September, 2024, offering a fresh start for violators.

This initiative provides a crucial opportunity for expats living illegally to regularise their status, allowing them to reunite with family and friends without fear of deportation.

Reflecting on a similar programme from six years ago, the UAE’s third residency amnesty, initiated on 1 August, brought significant relief to thousands.

Originally planned for 90 days, the programme was extended until 31 December, 2018, enabling many to adjust their status or leave the country without penalties.

This upcoming amnesty is expected to have a similarly positive impact, helping expats resolve absconding cases, regularise their employment and residency status, and live without the constant fear of legal repercussions.

The UAE’s ongoing commitment to providing such opportunities underscores its dedication to humanitarian initiatives and community support.
