The 53rd UAE National Day holidays have officially been announced for both public and private sectors
Looking forward to celebrating the 53rd UAE National Day and the long weekend? It’s just been confirmed by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) with official dates for both the public and private sectors.
Recently renamed Eid Al Etihad, the holidays will be on 2 and 3 December for private and public entities, with work resuming on 4 December.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) made the announcement on Friday, “in accordance with a circular issued by the Ministry, implementing the Cabinet’s decision regarding the approved public holidays for both government and private sectors for the year 2024.”
Earlier, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) made the announcement for the ministries and federal entities.
The official holiday means residents and citizens get a four-day weekend, from Saturday to Tuesday.

The MoHRE and FAHR extended their greetings to the leadership, government and people of the UAE.
Eid Al Etihad is celebrated yearly on 2 December to commemorate the formation of the United Arab Emirates in 1972.
The country observes nationwide celebrations to mark the occasion annually with fireworks, car rallies, air shows, and the UAE flag displayed in most places.
