The UAE has officially confirmed the Eid Al Adha holiday for both public and private sector employees, in what is the longest break of the year.
Authorities announced that the holiday will run from Tuesday, 26 May until Friday, 29 May, giving many residents a full six-day break when combined with the weekend. Work will resume on Monday, 1 June.
However, public sector employees are set to enjoy a longer break, starting on Monday, 25 May. The confirmation came from the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) for public sector employees.
That means workers across the UAE can officially start planning staycations, quick getaways, family gatherings, or simply a well-earned break at home.

The holiday period covers both Arafat Day and Eid Al Adha, with dates confirmed through official moon sightings.
Because the Hijri calendar is shorter than the Gregorian calendar, Islamic holidays shift slightly earlier each year.
In the UAE, Eid Al Adha remains one of the year’s biggest public holidays, with families and communities coming together for celebrations, travel, dining, and cultural events across the country.
With nearly a full week off confirmed, expect airports, hotels, and popular staycation spots to get busy quickly as residents start locking in their holiday plans.
