While screens usually get bad rap, they aren’t just for scrolling – they can also be a great space for learning, creativity, and connection.

And now, thanks to the UAE Children’s Digital Wellbeing Pact, children, families, and educators are getting the tools to make digital life safer and smarter.

The Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority (ECA), in partnership with the Ministry of Education (MoE), is rolling out a series of hands-on workshops and awareness sessions under the theme ‘Raising Safe and Smart Digital Natives’, ahead of the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Week 2025.

Meta & Digital Bridge are leading fun school sessions that show families how to navigate technology wisely, from managing screen time to building healthy digital habits at home.

e& UAE is hosting an online cybersecurity session to teach students how to stay safe online, protect themselves from cyberbullying, and be kind and respectful digital citizens.

Yango Play brings its ‘Safe Screens, Smart Choices’ workshop to one school, helping students, parents, and educators discover the power of age-appropriate content and parental controls.

Dr. Hessa Al Kaabi, Executive Director, Special Projects & Partnerships at ECA, said of the initiative: “Technology is part of every family story; let’s make it a story of safety, confidence, and connection! These workshops and our Pact commitments are about turning screens into spaces for learning, creativity, and care.”

H.E. Dr. Omar Al Dhaheri, Assistant Undersecretary for School Operations Sector at the MoE, added: “The UAE Children’s Digital Wellbeing Pact is a huge step toward equipping our kids with the digital superpowers they need. Together with ECA and e&, we’re preparing smart, responsible, and confident generations ready to thrive in the digital world.”

Signed during the World Government Summit 2025, the Pact brings together tech giants like META, Google, TikTok, Snapchat, X, Yango Play, Samsung, e& UAE, and du.

Their mission? To co-create safer, smarter, and more fun digital experiences for children and youth across the UAE.

With workshops, awareness sessions, and a growing network of partners, the UAE is turning digital screens from something tricky into something terrific – for kids, families, and teachers alike.
