The International Council on Archives Congress is coming to the Middle East for the first time
Knowledge is for everyone to share, especially when it comes to preserving Abu Dhabi’s culture and heritage.
And that’s exactly what The International Council on Archives Congress will do.

The event is set to take place from 9-13 October 2023 at ADNEC under the the theme of Enriching Knowledge Societies.
This is the first time the event will be held in the Middle East, showcasing Abu Dhabi’s efforts towards highlighting and preserving cultural heritage. In that vein, the UAE capital had also recently announced a list of modern heritage sites across the emirate.

The event will further enable experts to share knowledge, insights and proposals for advancement of the archival sector.
The archival, records, and data landscape in the 21st century is changing public expectations, changing how things work, what constitutes credible evidence, and how we can protect our holdings.
With the ICA Abu Dhabi Congress, the time has come for society to share, discuss, reflect, and challenge existing practices to explore and expand the critical role played by archives.
Gone are the days of information being for records and archiving professionals, the 21st century is for all.
