In a groundbreaking win for Emirati cycling, Safiya Alsayegh, representing UAE Team ADQ, claimed victory in the Individual Time Trial (ITT) UAE National Championship held in the Nazwa region.

Alsayegh’s exceptional display of skill and determination not only solidifies her position as the undisputed Emirati women’s cycling champion but also underscores UAE Team ADQ’s commitment to fostering homegrown talent and advancing women’s cycling in the region.

Fresh from her recent triumph in the road race category in Sharjah, Alsayegh’s latest victory further solidifies her status as a rising star in the world of cycling.

Her success is mirrored by Zahra Hussain of the UAE Development Team, who clinched the silver medal in the same race, highlighting the depth of talent within UAE Team ADQ’s ranks.

On the international stage, UAE Team ADQ continues to excel, with Karljin Swinkels securing the “Queen of the Mountains” title for six stages in a row at the Spanish Grand Tour, La Vuelta Femenina.

This success is complemented by victories in France, including Silvia Persico and Eleonora Gasparrini’s wins at the Grand Prix du Morbihan and La Classique Morbihan, respectively, as well as a triple win at the Gran Premio della Liberazione de Roma.

Melissa Moncada, President of UAE Team ADQ, commended Safiya Alsayegh’s dual triumph at the UAE National Championships, emphasising her remarkable talent and commitment to the sport.

Alsayegh, in turn, expressed gratitude for the support of UAE Team ADQ and her teammates, pledging to continue pushing the boundaries of women’s cycling and inspiring others to follow suit.
