A 62-minute fireworks display and 6,500 synchronised drones are set to dazzle

The skies of Al Wathba are set to light up in spectacular fashion on New Year’s Eve with an extraordinary 62-minute fireworks display, in a bid to smash five Guinness World Records.

This is going to be one of the most jaw-dropping New Year’s Eve celebrations the UAE has ever seen.

At the heart of the Sheikh Zayed Festival’s New Year programme is this mesmerising spectacle.

Using next-generation launch technology and ultra-precise synchronisation, fireworks will fill the sky across a vast area, transforming Al Wathba into a glowing stage of colour and motion.

Visitors can expect perfectly choreographed bursts, waves of light and cinematic moments designed to deliver a full sensory experience.

As if that wasn’t enough, the festival will also host one of the largest drone shows ever staged, with an astonishing 6,500 drones taking off in a single 20-minute performance.

The sky will become a digital canvas as the drones form nine giant artistic scenes, revealed to the public for the very first time.

The show will fuse with the countdown and fireworks, blending technology and storytelling into one seamless spectacle.

Expect towering symbols, animated patterns and glowing formations that shift across the sky in perfect harmony with the music and pyrotechnics; an experience that promises to feel more like a movie than a firework display.

Beyond the sky shows, visitors can enjoy live performances, international acts, and traditional Emirati displays across the festival grounds, creating a full evening of entertainment for families and visitors of all ages.

With advanced safety plans, expanded access points and enhanced crowd management in place, the festival is ready to welcome thousands of guests for a smooth and unforgettable experience.

From record-breaking fireworks to futuristic drone art, Al Wathba is set to deliver a New Year’s Eve celebration like no other, a spectacular send-off to 2025 and a bold, brilliant welcome to 2026.
