Free parking across the city

Good news for motorists: surface parking fees across Abu Dhabi will be waived on Wednesday, 1 January, 2025.

Parking charges will resume at 8am on Thursday, 2 January. This also extends to the Musaffah M-18 truck parking lot, where parking fees will be lifted during the New Year holiday.

However, authorities have reminded motorists to:

  • Avoid parking in prohibited areas.
  • Refrain from using residential parking spaces from 9pm to 8am.
  • Always park correctly in designated parking zones to maintain smooth traffic flow.

Toll Gate timings: Darb Toll System

The Darb toll gate system will also be free of charge on Wednesday, January 1. Regular toll charges will resume during peak hours on Thursday, 2 January:

  • Morning: 7am to 9am
  • Evening: 5pm to 7pm

Motorists are urged to plan their commutes accordingly.

Public Bus services: Updated schedules

To accommodate the holiday rush, public buses in Abu Dhabi will operate on a weekend and official holiday schedule. Additional regional and intercity trips will also be provided to meet increased demand.

For detailed bus service timings, visit the Abu Dhabi Mobility Website or check schedules on the Darbi smart app and Google Maps. You can also contact the Service Support Centre at 800850 for further inquiries.

Whether you’re heading out to celebrate or simply navigating the city, Abu Dhabi’s updated transport plans aim to make your New Year’s experience as seamless as possible. Stay informed, park responsibly, and make the most of the festivities.
