Team Yalla talks to Mark Owen about touring, Abu Dhabi and the evolution of music since the 90s

Mark Owen, one of the band’s iconic members, shares his enthusiasm for returning to the region, where he fondly recalls his previous experiences.
“Whenever I step off the plane in Abu Dhabi, the warmth and hospitality of the place welcome me back,” Owen says. “The weather is always a massive advantage at this time of year, making it even more enjoyable to perform.”
For Mark, the thrill of being on stage is matched only by the joy of connecting with audiences worldwide.
With a packed schedule ahead, including 20 shows left before the year’s end, he expresses gratitude for the opportunity to meet fans in different locations.
“Each show has its own unique atmosphere. Performing in Abu Dhabi is special, especially with its large expat community that brings a vibrant energy to the audience.”

Reflecting on the changes in the music industry since the band started in the 90s, Mark notes: “The pace is much faster now. We’ve shifted from spending weeks in the studio to producing social media content and music videos in a matter of days.
“While we maintain our old-school approach to recording, it’s fascinating to see how technology shapes new music.”
Mark also emphasises the importance of new influences. He shares how his teenage children have introduced him to emerging artists, expanding his musical horizons.
“I’ve seen more concerts in the last few years than I did in the previous two decades. Artists today have incredible platforms to showcase their talents, and I love discovering new sounds.”
With rehearsals in full swing and a thrilling lineup of performances ahead, Take That is ready to bring their signature energy to the stage in Abu Dhabi.
