Moving towards a more smarter city model the free WiFi has been welcomed throughout Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi has once again shown its vision for the future by providing free WiFi access at several different popular locations throughout the city.

The Department of Municipalities and Transport announced the positive development yesterday and will provide internet access for general use on public buses, parks and even some beaches.

Abu Dhabi, who sits 13 out of over 140 cities in the IMD Smart City Index throughout the world, will provide this service in almost 20 public parks in the emirate, not to mention popular tourist hotpots such as the Corniche and Al Bateen beaches.

The move has been welcomed as the UAE capital intensifies its commitment to online services around the city and moves towards placing more of an emphasis on a digital economy.
