Parents are encouraged to bring their children to this free programme to develop their athletic skills and explore various sports disciplines
As part of a CSR initiative and in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Athletics Club, Umm Al Emarat Park will host a free Children’s Athletics Programme on Friday, 3 November from 3 to 7 pm on the Great Lawn.
Through these training sessions, Umm Al Emarat Park invites the community to participate as it aims to contribute towards the upliftment of young athletes and to prepare participants for potential future Olympic sports at both regional and international events.
The competitions are designed for three age groups: 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12 years. Every team will take turns at the competition station, allowing each team member one minute to compete.
Following the individual events, all teams will come together for an endurance race. Children will also have the flexibility to move to a different age group, particularly beneficial for beginners.
Parents are encouraged to bring their children to this free programme to develop their athletic skills and explore various sports disciplines. The AED 10 entry fee for the Park will be applied.
As a community-focused park, Umm Al Emarat Park remains committed to providing youngsters with the opportunity to live a healthy and active lifestyle while allowing children to create a strong foundation for fitness habits that last beyond their younger years.
Commemorating UAE Flag Day
In honour of UAE Flag Day, Umm Al Emarat Park and its partners will display the national flag with pride to celebrate the UAE’s unity and greatness while commemorating the efforts of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his brothers.
For this occasion, Vine Communities, an Emirati learning center for kids and adults, will host a ‘Flag Colors Cookies and Candle Making Workshop’ from 4.30 to 6 pm alongside a Flag Day showcase by Redwood Nursery, expert early learning and Montessori nursery in Abu Dhabi, from 5 to 5.15 pm.
