The new video highlights the exceptional engineering that went into creating the track
Ever since the Etihad Rail construction finished, the entire country has benefited from an elevated freight transport system.
While we wait for the passenger services to become operational, the railway’s Twitter account shared a video showcasing the beauty of the project.
Highlighting the great planning, construction and engineering behind the project, the footage shows the track passing through the Hajar Mountains.

Shared between Oman and the UAE, the Hajara Mountains are the highest mountain range in the eastern part of the Arabian Peninsula. Naturally, a breathtaking sight as well.

A massive undertaking, the Etihad Rail track included the construction of nine tunnels through the mountains at a cumulative length of 6.9km, with a whopping 54 bridges and 20 animal crossings added.
Etihad Rail’s 1,200km network extends across the country, from the border of Saudi Arabia to the border of Oman.
Once passengers can travel, it’ll be a breeze getting through 11 cities and regions across the UAE.
