Telescopes at the ready!

Celestial enthusiasts in the UAE are in for a treat as the ‘Da Vinci glow’ graces the sky in the coming days.

And if you want to get in on the action then why not try one of these amazing stargazing places to witness this latest meteor shower?

This enchanting phenomenon occurs around sunset when a crescent moon’s thin sliver still reveals a ghostly outline of the full moon.

Named after Leonardo da Vinci, this ethereal light, known as ‘earthshine,’ happens when sunlight reflects off Earth’s surface and illuminates the moon’s dark side.

In addition to the Da Vinci glow, August is a stellar month for stargazing with the Perseid meteor shower peaking around 12 to 13 August.

The Perseids, famous for their dazzling displays, can produce up to 100 meteors per hour. These meteors are remnants of Comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle, which last passed near the Sun in 1992, leaving behind a trail of debris that lights up our night sky as Earth passes through it.

To enjoy these celestial spectacles, find a dark, remote spot away from city lights. You don’t need any special equipment – just patience and a clear sky

Prepare for an unforgettable night of cosmic wonders!
