Authorities urge residents to brace for dust storms, high humidity, and possible fog tonight
The UAE is in the grip of an intense heatwave, with temperatures soaring to a blistering 43°C across both Dubai and Abu Dhabi today.
But it’s not just the heat, dusty winds, haze, and the risk of overnight fog are adding to a dangerously uncomfortable day across the Emirates.
According to AccuWeather, Dubai skies will remain partly to mostly sunny, but there’s little relief in sight.
Dust-laden winds will whip through the city, worsening air quality and creating health risks for vulnerable residents.
By tonight, temperatures will drop only slightly to a sultry 36°C, with humidity making it feel even hotter.

Abu Dhabi: No better off
In the capital, the picture is just as bleak: 43°C under harsh sun, falling to just 33°C overnight.
With dusty gusts expected through the evening, residents are being warned to limit exposure, particularly children, the elderly, and those with respiratory issues.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued broader warnings for the country, noting a chance of convective clouds forming in the east this afternoon and fog or mist threatening visibility overnight; especially in coastal and inland regions.
Moderate winds could pick up speed across western areas, stirring up sand and reducing visibility on major roads. The Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea will stay relatively calm, but land conditions are anything but.
As the mercury continues to rise, the message is clear: stay indoors, stay cool, and stay alert.
