Get ready to experience your city from a whole new perspective

Abu Dhabi is literally taking transport to new heights. The emirate is rolling out its very first vertiport network, opening the doors for electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft featuring sleek, futuristic flying taxis gliding across the city.

Say goodbye to traffic jams and hello to low-emission, high-flying adventures.

More than ten vertiports are planned across Abu Dhabi, each designed to make air travel feel effortless and exciting.

Abu Dhabi Airports is leading the initiative, ensuring the vertiports are fully ready for the future of aviation.

Speaking to WAM this week, Elena Sorlini, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Airports, said: “As the anchor delivery partner for Abu Dhabi’s vertiport network, Abu Dhabi Airports will be critical in shaping the infrastructure, operations and commercial readiness of advanced air mobility in the emirate.

“This partnership reflects our long-term commitment to unlocking the future of aviation through innovation, as well as our key role in integrating next-generation mobility solutions into Abu Dhabi’s transport ecosystem.”

While we don’t know the exact spots yet, the network will connect key areas including Zayed International Airport and Al Bateen Executive Airport to Yas Island, Saadiyat, and Abu Dhabi Island.

The vertiports themselves will be state-of-the-art, fully integrated into the city’s transport system.

Whether it’s jetting off for work, catching a weekend adventure, or zipping over to a city hotspot, these sky-high stations are set to transform the way you move around the emirate.

Meanwhile, the city’s smart transport authorities are making sure everything runs smoothly, safely, and sustainably. It’s a team effort to make sure the sky is literally the limit.

You can now get ready to see your city from a whole new perspective, where hopping in a flying taxi could be as normal as grabbing your car keys…only a lot more exciting.
