The fifth annual Urban Treasures awards have been launched
Got a favourite café, bakery, or family-run shop that feels like a piece of home?
The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) wants you to help shine a spotlight on the city’s most cherished local gems with its fifth annual Urban Treasures 2026 awards.
This is your chance to celebrate Abu Dhabi’s cultural heartbeat; the businesses that have stood the test of time, keeping communities connected for 20 years or more.
Think of that bakery you raced to before school, the tailor who knew your family by name, or the café that’s been the backdrop to countless weekend gatherings.
Nominations are now open until 30 November, and DCT Abu Dhabi is calling on everyone to put forward the establishments they think deserve the title of Urban Treasure.
