Everything you need to know about the road closures in Abu Dhabi due to the UAE Tour Women 2026
Motorists in Abu Dhabi should plan ahead this week, as a series of temporary road closures will be in place to accommodate the UAE Tour Women 2026, which is returning to the capital from Thursday, 5 February to Sunday, 8 February.
The international cycling event brings together some of the world’s top female cyclists and spans hundreds of kilometres across the UAE over four days.
As the race moves through different emirates, rolling road closures will be implemented along the route to ensure the safety of riders and spectators.
The most significant impact in Abu Dhabi will be felt on Saturday, 7 February, when cyclists make their way from teamLab Phenomena to Abu Dhabi Breakwater.
The route cuts across a large part of the city, passing through major areas including Saadiyat Island, Yas Island and Al Marina, meaning delays should be expected throughout the afternoon.

Road closures on Saturday will begin from 1.30pm, with roads reopening gradually as the race progresses, and full access expected to resume by 3.45pm. Closures will be carried out in phases, following the movement of the cyclists.
Key roads affected include exits and routes around Yas Island, Yas Marina Circuit and Yas Mall, as well as Masdar City and Khalifa City.
The race will then continue across Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street, Mussaffah Bridge, Zayed Sports City, Umm Yifenah Island, Al Reem Island and Al Maryah Island, before heading through central areas such as Qasr Al Hosn, Al Bateen and Shakhbout Bin Sultan Street, finally finishing at Abu Dhabi Breakwater.
Earlier in the week, the race kicks off on 5 Thursday, February, with a stage running between Al Mirfa and Madinat Zayed, before moving on to Dubai on Friday, 6 February.
The final two stages return to Abu Dhabi, with Saturday’s city route followed by a dramatic 156km finale on Sunday, 8 February, running from Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain to the summit of Jebel Hafeet.
Drivers are advised to allow extra travel time, use alternative routes where possible, and keep an eye on official updates throughout the weekend.
