Drivers in Abu Dhabi are advised to plan ahead as a major road faces temporary night closures while authorities also stress extra caution near school zones
Motorists in Abu Dhabi should prepare for night-time road closures on Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street (E20) from Wednesday, 29 April to 1 May, as bridge construction works get underway.
The temporary closures will take place during night hours only, with traffic expected to return to normal during the day.
Drivers are advised to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and follow diversion routes put in place during the construction period.
The works are part of ongoing infrastructure development aimed at improving traffic flow and connectivity across the capital.
However, even short-term closures on a major road like Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street can lead to congestion, particularly during peak evening hours, making route planning essential for commuters.

Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi Police are reminding motorists to remain alert on the roads, especially around school zones.

Drivers are being urged to slow down near schools, respect pedestrian crossings, and stop fully when school bus signs are activated.
