This latest mew measure aims to enhance traffic flow and road safety for all motorists on this Abu Dhabi road
In a bid to improve road safety and ease traffic flow, Abu Dhabi Mobility has officially removed the minimum speed limit of 120km/h on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Road (E311), effective immediately.
The decision marks a significant shift from the rule introduced in April 2023, which mandated a minimum speed of 120km/h on designated lanes of the busy highway.
That regulation, enforced from 1 May, 2023, penalised drivers with fines of AED 400 for travelling below the limit.

Authorities say the removal of the minimum speed will help create a safer and more fluid driving environment, particularly for motorists operating heavy vehicles along this major route.
The update is part of a broader safety initiative by Abu Dhabi Mobility to enhance overall traffic management across the emirate.
The department announced a reduction in speed limits on several key roads last week, including Abu Dhabi-Sweihan Road (E20) and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed International Road (E11).
These coordinated measures reflect the city’s ongoing efforts to balance speed regulations with the safety and convenience of all road users.
