The latest phase will activate additional parking spaces from 18 May
Paid parking in Musaffah is continuing to expand, with Abu Dhabi set to activate thousands of additional regulated spaces across the busy industrial district later this month.
The rollout, led by Q Mobility under the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), is part of a wider plan that first began in January 2026 to improve traffic movement, organise public parking use, and reduce congestion across some of the emirate’s busiest commercial zones.
The latest update marks the third phase of the Musaffah parking rollout, which officially begins on 18 May 2026.
This phase will introduce paid parking across sectors M5, M6, M21, M22, and M23, adding a total of 3,921 surface parking spaces to the system.
The new spaces are divided across the sectors as follows:
M5: 661 spaces
M6: 710 spaces
M21: 1,100 spaces
M22: 800 spaces
M23: 650 spaces
Dedicated parking spaces for People of Determination are also included as part of the expansion, helping improve accessibility and ease of movement throughout the area.
Musaffah remains one of Abu Dhabi’s busiest industrial and commercial hubs, with thousands of workers, businesses, and visitors moving through the district daily.
As commercial activity has continued growing, parking demand has increased significantly too, creating challenges around congestion, irregular parking behaviour, and limited space availability in some sectors.
The phased parking system is designed to ease some of that pressure by creating a more organised flow of vehicles while improving access to offices, workshops, retail spaces, and other facilities across the district.

For drivers, the system itself stays fairly simple. Standard surface parking spaces are charged at AED2 per hour, with payments available through the DARB app, TAMM app, SMS services, or on-site parking machines.
The first phase of the rollout originally launched on 12 January 2026, covering sectors M1, M2, M3, M4, and M24, while a second phase followed on 20 April, expanding the system into sectors M7, M8, M9, M14, and M15.
Authorities say each phase has already helped improve parking behaviour and traffic circulation across Musaffah, with the wider goal being smoother mobility, safer roads, and easier access throughout the district.
For regular commuters, the update mostly means planning ahead. More areas across Musaffah are now becoming paid parking zones, so checking signs, downloading the payment apps, and keeping an eye on parking timings is quickly becoming part of the routine.
What started as a traffic management move is steadily turning into a full modernisation of parking across one of Abu Dhabi’s most heavily used districts.
