Abu Dhabi residents can now appeal certain fines via – all digital, free, and fuss-free
Let’s face it, we’ve all had one of those days.
Maybe you left your trash bags out a little too early, didn’t trim that front hedge, or parked in a “just-for-a-minute” spot. And next thing you know…a fine appears.
But here’s a little sunshine for your day: if you get slapped with a municipal fine in Abu Dhabi, you don’t need to stand in line or shuffle through piles of paperwork to challenge it anymore.
You can now appeal straight from your phone using the TAMM app; quick, simple, and 100 per cent paper-free.
So, what kinds of fines are we talking about?
This is for municipal violations – stuff like waste disposal issues, not maintaining your property properly, or other infractions related to community upkeep.
Basically, if it’s something overseen by Abu Dhabi’s Department of Municipalities and Transport, you’re probably good to go.
Got a fine? Here’s how to challenge it:
Don’t wait! You’ve got one week from the date you receive the fine to submit your appeal.
Hop on TAMM – either through the app or the website.
Log in with your UAE Pass (no pass? It’s easy to register!).
Upload any proof – think photos, documents, receipts… anything that helps tell your side of the story.
Explain what happened and how you’ve already fixed the problem. Yes, you’ll need to actually sort it out before appealing!
Bonus: It’s totally free to submit an appeal. But keep in mind, you only get one shot at it per unpaid fine.

What happens next?
Once you hit submit, your case goes to the relevant authority for review. If they agree with you; awesome, the fine could be dropped.
If not, well… you tried. Just be warned: if the issue hasn’t been fixed when they come to inspect, the fine could actually double.
So yeah, appealing is great, but fixing the issue is key.
This whole digital shift is part of Abu Dhabi’s mission to make life easier for residents. More online services = less waiting around, and more time for, well…everything else.
So even if you never get fined (go you!), it’s good to know the TAMM app has your back; just in case.
