And it’s only the start of a smart new era on the roads
Abu Dhabi is speeding into the future, and it’s not even touching the steering wheel.
The emirate has just started its first pilot of autonomous delivery vehicles in Masdar City, officially putting autonomous wheels on its smart mobility vision.
These cutting-edge vehicles are developed by K2’s subsidiary Autogo and are part of a pilot programme launched with EMX, the logistics arm of 7X, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Mobility.
From Masdar City to the world
For now, the sleek, driverless vehicles are zipping around Masdar City, navigating urban streets and dropping off orders without human intervention.
And yes, it feels like something straight out of a sci-fi film.
But this is just the beginning. Autogo has its eyes on a wider rollout across Abu Dhabi, with plans to partner with more stakeholders and go full-scale commercial in the coming months.

Driving towards 2040
This milestone isn’t just cool tech for the sake of it. It’s part of Abu Dhabi’s bold vision: by 2040, 25% per cent of all trips in the emirate will be made using smart transport solutions.
That means fewer cars, less congestion, lower emissions, and cleaner, calmer city streets, all while your coffee, groceries, and online orders get delivered like clockwork by futuristic little robo-vans.
Made in Abu Dhabi
Beyond just operating them, the capital also aims to localise production of autonomous systems through its Smart and Autonomous Vehicle Industries (SAVI) cluster, planting Abu Dhabi firmly on the global map of next-gen transport innovation.
The takeaway? Your next delivery in Abu Dhabi might just roll up with no one behind the wheel.
And that’s exactly the kind of future we can get on board with.
