Co-founders Tom Worton and Marc Williams discuss the evolution of one of the capital’s hottest movements

The Abu Dhabi House Movement has quickly become a defining force in the capital’s cultural landscape, as it is about to blend the electric energy of house music with the timeless allure of art and architecture.

As the movement continues to evolve and expand, it is reaching new heights with its upcoming event at the Louvre Abu Dhabi on 1 April.

This special collaboration promises to be an unforgettable evening, fusing the vibrancy of house music with the visual spectacle of one of the world’s most renowned museums.

Inspiration behind the collaboration

The collaboration between the Abu Dhabi House Movement and the Louvre Abu Dhabi is the result of a shared passion for creating unique experiences that blend art, culture, and music in innovative ways.

Following the success of recent Masqurave parties at the Louvre Abu Dhabi featuring internationally acclaimed electronic artists Peggy Gou and Black Coffee, the team behind the movement realized the potential for something truly special.

A visit to the Louvre’s Art Lounge Terrace sealed the deal. “We knew we could do something extraordinary at the Louvre,” said Marc Williams, one of the co-founders of the Abu Dhabi House Movement.

“When we visited the Art Lounge Terrace, it immediately felt like the perfect place for our community to come together and experience something new.

The space offered the perfect blend of artistic grandeur and modern intimacy, and we knew it could serve as a unique backdrop for our event.”

Blending music with art

At its core, the Abu Dhabi House Movement is about the fusion of music and art, creating a sensory experience that transcends the traditional boundaries of both.

The upcoming event at the Louvre Abu Dhabi is a perfect example of this ethos. With its deep, ambient, and uplifting beats, the house music will complement the Louvre’s stunning collection of visual art.

“We believe that house music can harmonise with the themes of light, movement, and emotion that permeate the Louvre’s exhibitions,” said Marc.

“Our DJs will be curating sets inspired by the surrounding artworks, using the music to enhance the visual experience and create a space where the two worlds collide.”

This unique fusion of sound and sight offers guests an immersive experience that not only celebrates the richness of both forms of art but also elevates the way people interact with them.

The house music will echo the energy and vibrancy of the Louvre’s exhibits while simultaneously adding a modern, evocative twist.

The movement’s evolution

What started as small gatherings in venues like the Art Market at Yas Bay has blossomed into a full-fledged movement, gaining traction and attention across Abu Dhabi.

According to the guys, the community has grown rapidly, and the movement’s events have evolved to reflect the city’s evolving cultural scene.

“One year ago, we were hosting parties in a coffee shop, and now we’re bringing house music to one of the most prestigious locations in the world,” said Marc.

“It’s a testament to the growing demand for these kinds of events in Abu Dhabi and to the passion of our community for quality house music.”

The success of the movement reflects a broader trend in Abu Dhabi’s burgeoning cultural scene, where the city is embracing more diverse and international forms of artistic expression. For the Abu Dhabi House Movement, this is just the beginning.

“We’re passionate about providing unique and memorable experiences for our community, and we see a growing appetite for these kinds of cultural events,” said Tom, co-founder of the movement.

“The response has been incredible, and we’re committed to continuing to offer unique experiences like the one we’re presenting at the Louvre.”

Reflecting Abu Dhabi’s cultural growth

This collaboration marks a significant milestone for both the movement and Abu Dhabi’s broader cultural development.

The event is not just about bringing house music to an iconic venue – it’s a reflection of the city’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of cultural expression and artistic innovation.

“Abu Dhabi is rapidly establishing itself as a hub for art, culture, and innovation, and we’re proud to be a part of that,” said Tom. “This collaboration with the Louvre is an exciting step forward in the city’s cultural growth and is a sign of the exciting things to come.”

The success of this event is also indicative of a larger shift in the city’s cultural scene. House music is no longer confined to niche venues or underground spaces – it is being embraced by some of the world’s most prestigious locations.

A new era for house music in Abu Dhabi

What makes this event at the Louvre Abu Dhabi truly unique is its integration of house music into a completely different environment.

Unlike traditional house music gatherings that are typically held in clubs or large outdoor spaces, this event will take place in a setting where art, culture, and music come together in a harmonious blend.

“We are very intentional about the locations we choose for our events,” said Marc. “The Louvre Abu Dhabi is not only an architectural masterpiece but also a place where people come to experience art in its highest form.

“To be able to bring house music into such a setting feels incredibly special, and we’re excited to share this experience with our community.”

Looking ahead, the Abu Dhabi House Movement has even more exciting collaborations in the works.

The movement is currently in talks with several international music brands and artists to bring new, innovative events to the capital.

The future of Abu Dhabi House Movement

The Abu Dhabi House Movement is just getting started. With the Louvre Abu Dhabi event marking a new chapter in its growth, the team behind the movement is more determined than ever to continue growing the house music scene in the capital.

“We believe that people in Abu Dhabi shouldn’t have to travel outside the city for their house music fix,” said Marc.

“We’re here to make sure that the movement continues to grow and that the capital becomes a destination for incredible house music experiences.”

As the movement continues to evolve, there is no doubt that the Abu Dhabi House Movement will play a major role in shaping the future of the city’s cultural scene – and their collaboration with the Louvre Abu Dhabi on April 1st is just the beginning.

For those looking to experience the dynamic fusion of music, art, and culture, the event promises to be an unforgettable evening in one of the world’s most iconic cultural institutions.
