A new mini-city is coming up between Abu Dhabi and Dubai

Complete with hotels, cultural venues, and one of the region’s biggest shopping malls

A brand-new “mini-city” is on the horizon between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and it’s shaping up to be one of the UAE’s most ambitious mixed-use developments yet.

The AED55 billion project promises a vibrant blend of luxury living, leisure, culture, and retail, with a massive three-million-square-foot shopping mall as its centrepiece, one of the largest in the region.

Strategically located along the Abu Dhabi–Dubai motorway in the Al Mamoura district, the new development is an entire community in the making.

Expect three hotels, thousands of homes, and all the essentials that make a city come alive: from schools and universities to mosques, museums, and even a 200-bed hospital.

It’s all designed to serve the growing population between the two cities and create a new lifestyle hub perfectly placed for both residents and travellers.

The mega mall at the heart of it all is expected to bring Abu Dhabi’s retail scene to a whole new level.

For years, shoppers would head to Dubai’s retail giants like Mall of the Emirates or Ibn Battuta for big-brand experiences, but this new destination is set to change that.

It will give Abu Dhabi’s residents, and visitors, a closer, more convenient alternative that rivals the best shopping and entertainment experiences in the region.

The project sits neatly between Zayed International Airport and Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport, a prime position that’s expected to attract both UAE residents and international visitors looking for easy access to both emirates.

And with developers like Mira spearheading similar projects across Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah, and even beyond the UAE, this latest announcement cements the company’s growing footprint in the region’s urban expansion.

Ultimately, this new mini-city will create a new destination, one that connects the two emirates, supports a rapidly growing community, and adds a new chapter to Abu Dhabi’s evolving identity as a capital of culture, commerce, and modern living.
