Abu Dhabi drivers can clear black points from their driving licences this month – here’s how

Free awareness courses will take place at Mushrif Mall

It’s good news for anyone in Abu Dhabi with black points on their license as authorities have just announced a new initiative that gives drivers the chance to clean up their records and get back on the road.

From 20 October to 20 November, drivers can take part in a special awareness programme running daily from 4pm to 10pm at the Abu Dhabi Police platform on the first floor of Mushrif Mall.

If you’ve got less than 24 black points, you can remove up to eight by signing up for the educational workshops.

If you’ve racked up more than 24 points, don’t worry, you can get your licence reinstated after completing the required courses and paying the fees.

Black points are handed out for serious traffic offences, and once you hit 24 within a year, your licence is typically suspended.

This new campaign is designed to help drivers turn over a new leaf behind the wheel, encouraging safer habits and giving everyone a fair chance to start fresh.

Abu Dhabi Police rolled out a similar programme earlier this year during the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX), but it’s back now with even more accessibility for motorists.

So, if you’ve been meaning to fix up your record (or get your licence back), now’s the time to head to Mushrif Mall and sign up.
