Over 8,000 years ago, a small Neolithic community living on Ghagha Island off Abu Dhabi’s coast faced an unexpected eviction notice, courtesy of Mother Nature herself.

Instead of stone forts, they likely built cosy huts from palm fronds and stone, echoing traditional Gulf architecture.
These second-wave islanders weren’t just hanging out; they were fishing, trading shells from far-flung seas, and living it up with a fresh take on island life.
