RAMADAN: The UAE moon-sighting committee are set to meet virtually to indicate the start of the Holy Month

They will meet after the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department will continue collecting evidence and informing the Moon-Sighting Committee the Maghreb prayer.

The nation is waiting in anticipation for the start of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

According to the UAE News Agency – WAM, the UAE Moon-Sighting Committee will meet virtually on Monday, 12 April, after the Maghreb prayer, which takes place at the setting of the sun.

The UAE moon-sighting committee is under the chairmanship of Sultan bin Saeed Al Badi Al Dhaheri, Minister of Justice to indicate the start of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

WAM reported that the Shariah courts nationwide will follow up and inform the committee of any sightings, while the Lunar Calendar Committee will inform the Moon-Sighting Committee with the findings.

Abu Dhabi hotels are already gearing up for Ramadan with many Iftars and Suhoors taking place across the emirate.
