There’s a lot more on the way
If you thought Yas Island was already packed, there’s a lot more on the way.
Miral has announced plans to invest more than AED 12 billion over the next five years, funding a major pipeline of new developments, expansions and upgrades across the island.
The investment is separate from the previously announced Disney project and is designed to expand Yas Island’s attractions, bring in new experiences and increase its hotel capacity.
In other words, Abu Dhabi’s entertainment hotspot is getting ready for another growth spurt.
Miral says the AED 12 billion investment will focus on expanding existing attractions, introducing new rides and immersive experiences, and growing Yas Island’s hotel offering.
The idea is to keep pace with what visitors want, while making the island an even bigger draw for international tourists and residents.
It also forms part of the wider ambition behind Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Strategy 2030, with Miral saying the investment will support job creation, skills development and the emirate’s wider economic diversification.
And while we don’t yet have a full shopping list of exactly what every dirham will fund, one thing is clear: Yas Island isn’t finished yet.

So, what’s already on Yas Island? Quite a lot, actually.
Yas Island is already home to four major theme parks, including Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, where you can ride the world’s fastest rollercoaster, alongside a host of Ferrari-themed attractions and experiences.
Then there’s Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi, which has grown into a huge waterpark packed with slides, rides and aquatic adventures, while Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi brings superheroes, cartoons and six immersive lands under one giant air-conditioned roof.
And if marine life is more your thing, SeaWorld Abu Dhabi offers eight exciting ocean realms, animal encounters, live entertainment and interactive experiences.
But Yas isn’t just about theme parks. You can drive on a Formula 1 circuit at Yas Marina Circuit, where the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix takes place each year, or head to CLYMB Abu Dhabi for indoor skydiving and climbing.
Fancy something a little slower? There’s Yas Beach for a day by the water, Yas Links Abu Dhabi for a round of golf, and Yas Marina and Yas Bay Waterfront for restaurants, drinks and waterfront hangs.
And then there’s Yas Mall, with more than 370 brands, dozens of restaurants, VOX Cinema and family entertainment.
For nights out, Etihad Arena regularly brings major concerts, sporting events and international entertainment to Yas Bay, while Etihad Park comes alive during F1 weekend for the Yasalam After-Race Concerts.
And, of course, there’s no shortage of places to stay, from the iconic W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island to a growing collection of hotels around the island.
With theme parks, F1, waterparks, concerts, beaches, golf, shopping, dining and some seriously ambitious developments already packed into one island, the next five years could make Yas even harder to ignore.
